I am sure that all of us are familiar with this image. Its represent the relationship between the technology, pedagogy and also content knowledge. From the Wikipedia, TPACK is defines as:
Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) attempts to capture some of the essential qualities of knowledge required by teachers for technology integration in their teaching, while addressing the complex, multifaceted and situated nature of teacher knowledge.
This is an example of TPACK in my lesson:
Year: 4 Cekal
Subject: English
Topic: More stories
Language Focus: Nouns – Parts of the shoes: Shoelaces, tongue, toe etc.
Content of this lesson was that the students will be able to read and understand the story and also acquire new nouns in the story. For the technological knowledge, I had used power point presentation during the pre-reading stage. I showed the pictures of parts of shoes to the students as a preparation for them to read the story “The Elves and the Shoemaker”. The students seem quite attracted to the slide show presentation.
I also used the power point presentation to show the story to the students. I transferred the story into power point presentation and also with pictures for every page. I think this was very helpful as the students could read the story and also view the pictures to enhance their understanding of the story. I had incorporated cooperative learning style during the lesson. While the students were reading the story, they need to discuss with each other to guess the story. I would show the first slide to the students and they would read the story. Then, they need to discuss with their friends to guess the continuation of the story. By doing this, the students will be more attracted to the lesson as if they were involve in the story.
This is how I incorporate TPACK in my lesson. I believe that it really help me to make my lesson to be more fun and attractive.

Hi helmi… The story that you used was one of my favourite story when I was a kid. I am sure that the pupils liked the story a lot. Besides that, the way you presented the story was effective as you flashed it through power point presentation so that the pupils could see the pictures too. The pedagogy that you used which was cooperative learning style is a good approach as it emphasizes on interactive interaction among the pupils. Hence, it will encourage the pupils to speak and share their ideas. Well done! 🙂

I like your idea of using story. Im sure the children enjoyed your lesson very much. Especially to those who are visual learners. I admire your effort for putting it into powerpoint slides. It shows that you really put an effort to make sure that the children can enjoy the lesson. Good job Togo. Maybe you can insert the powerpoint into your post so that you can share it with our friends. 🙂

Salam helmi!
I’m sure that you have work hard to make sure that you incorporate
TPaCK in your lesson. Surely, I can see that every element of TPaCK are there
and you relate all those elements well..
Whatever we do, just make sure that the students get what we want to deliver right?
And here, I’m pretty sure that your students gain something from your lesson
with the help of TPaCK.

Salam Helmi..
Your lesson looked simple yet meaningful. It’s good that you had integrated T-k in your Set Induction as what I could see, students will get excited & attracted towards the picture of shoe. It’s good that you use it as a way for teaching them the different parts of a shoe before they read the story. You had done a good job in preparing the students for the reading activity & that’s how a language educator should be. 🙂
